Okay I'm gonna do it, it's time for the 1950 election (I already did 1945 on my own to test it out)

There will be a lot of tweets so if you don't want to see it, I would recommend muting this thread https://twitter.com/lisa_trandy/status/1265578053746528261
First of all, how it works.

Basically I take the vote tally from the last election and for each party in each seat, I add:

- d20 for the national vote
- d10 for the regional vote
- d10 for the constituency vote (only if it will make a difference)
So there will be a general national swing, but individual regions and seats may show a different story
Here's how the seats have stood since the 1945 election, when Anthony Hazzard defeated Labour's Alec Jones to become Prime Minister:

CON 55
LAB 34
SNP 8
NI 3
OTH 0
Hazzard's popularity has fallen since then and the polls are pointing towards him losing his majority, but it's unclear whether new Labour leader Rupa Davies has enough votes to make it into Downing Street without help from the minor parties
Speaking of which, the SNP's Rachel Eustice is confident she can not only hold the 8 seats her party won last time, but also take Edinburgh from Shadow Scotland Secretary Mohammad Daly
Elsewhere Nigel Jones (Lib Dems), Thomas Whitehead (Plaid Cymru), Chloe Penning (National Party) and Lloyd Eagle (Greens) are all hoping to make it into Parliament
The unpredictability of this election will be causing a lot of tension in the party HQs up until the exit poll - and very possibly up to the final seat
