Just wanted to come on here and say, I’m not wasting Rep. Maddox to resign because of her party affiliation. I don’t care what party you are as long as you’re representing your district well. I spent a lot of my childhood in her district, I know folks from Grant Co where she(1/6)
lives are good people. They don’t go around hanging effigies of people to terrorize them nor do they endorse that. As a black female, I had my issues but they don’t represent the area as a whole. Nor do they make rape jokes or actively sit around dismissing survivors. (2/6)
People yes, are upset about their small businesses/unemployment/how their going to feed their families during these unprecedented times, but do not incite hate over it. I’m saying there are good people and she does not represent any part of the area as a whole. (3/6)
I’m saying this because I’ve already read through stereotypes over the last few days about how people in her district are. As you’re looking for candidates to run against her, and you don’t even live remotely close (from Louisville), please listen to the people from the area(4/6)
or from people familiar with the area. Please don’t go in a co-opt or try to organize work that is already being done. Or start your own movement. And please don’t stereotype. She’s terrible, yes, but she does not represent ALL. I don’t care if you are the best consultant (5/6)
in the State. Listen to people before you input or try to give advice. (6/6)
