A request! Jan. 29, 2018 on Raw in Philadelphia, the night after Royal Rumble, where Asuka won the first-ever women's Rumble match, and Sasha Banks was the marathon woman. This is the first & last time these two met one-on-one.

Also this is a very dignified era for Raw graphics.
Also notable from this show: it's the one where they re-introduced Big Jonny Coach on commentary, replacing Booker T in one of the all time bad trades.
it's

BOSS TIME
Imagine being a Sasha Hater. Could never be your old friend Tape.
The undefeated Asuka, winner of the first-ever women's Royal Rumble
Cole: "Asuka came to WWE in late 2015."

Me, in May 2020, considering the passage of time:
I love her so much 😭
Rehiring of Coachman was bizarre. Not, like, him, he's whatever, he's fine on the Kickoff panels. But even on this first night the whole thing was mostly built around Cole and Graves bullying him and shutting down almost every talking point he brought up.
If I had to take one wrestling move I'd probably pick a running ass. And I'm not being horny, it can be Taguchi or Cold Banana or anyone really. It's just the funniest move to pick, I think.
The little micro-cut in the middle here is Legendary Dunn shit.
Scouting Report: Asuka

Weakness: Charging into corners.
Bank Statement! Actually the second time she gets it on in short order, but this one fully on, center of the ring.
High risk, no reward.
Asuka is IN THE ZONE
Man Banks takes everything SO sensationally. She rules.
And now it's Asuka spilling to the floor as Banks stays alive!
Sasha staying in it, staying with the high risk
I know I crap on a lot of reactions that look similar to this in NXT these days but a big difference is the commentary is going LOOK AT HER!!!! LOOK AT HER!!!!!!!! SHE'S EMOTIONAL!!!!!!!!!!! LOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FUCK
FUCK!!
This match absolutely SLAPS and led us to one of the great Asuka Tweets ever, too.
