I'm going to step into the controversial here for a couple of moments so bear with me. This quarantine has shown a lot of people that not every police officer has your best interests in mind, self included, and that some use excessive force in dispensing the law. https://twitter.com/aletweetsnews/status/1265436705819176961
Now, the #ReopenAmericaNow protests were met with so much distain and malice from American media since they were protesting during the pandemic to have their livelihood back. Yet, from what I could see, there was no violence and most everyone followed proper health guidelines.
Now here, we see another protest about the unjustified killing of a man who was detained by some officers, and in my opinion, that deserves demands for justice. However, from what I can see, not a single national American news outlet has called these protestors selfish for
protesting during a pandemic and not one has covered how violent they have been towards property, both public and private. Expressing your opinion is a fundamental right that our Constitution protects, especially when government violates those rights.
But let's not pretend that journalists don't have an agenda to push that they think will get advertising money and will show their woke credentials by what and how they cover news stories.
