Am I tired of jargon? Sure. But I'm also tired of obscurantism that doesn't rely on jargon. I'm also really tired of the passive voice.
I am tired of academic writers thinking their seniority, prestige, or age makes their writing flawless.
By the way, "readers" in this sense need not be a general audience. There's a generosity in writing so members of your specific field understand you. Even co-specialists don't share all the same knowledge and references.
