Looking at the #australian approach to cladding remedial - do get the impression @mhclg is overcomplicating & missing more streamlined approaches

Like the final quote “it isn’t just about safety, it’s about fairness to people who bought apartments in good faith but let down..
The Australians from the inquiry to ministers clearly recognise and state where the issues occurred

“.... people who bought apartments in good faith and were let down by dodgy builders and dangerous products”

So why are UK #leaseholders being failed & bankrupt by @govuk ?
No the #australian #lacrossefire firmly laid the apprortionment berween the respondents -the person causing the fire who no one pursued

However more importantly the project parties, not the building owner, not the apartment owner and not the builder but the project design team!
Although the contractor was found in breach of strict warranties, it was not held to have failed to exercise reasonable care in construction of the tower by installing combustible panels. On the case facts builder was dependent on professional skills of the consultants engaged!
Lacrosse fire case Tribunal ran for 22 days. Such delays can leave the blameless residents out of pocket for considerable periods of time.

vs

near 3yrs post #grenfell (14 June 2020) + #covid stalled @grenfellinquiry phase 2 which only commence jan 2020

Despite #australian #lacrosse Tribunal case comparator

@govuk @mhclg announcing woefully inadequate £1.6bil building safety fund yesterday, is still taking the path of lease resistance to foot shortfalls

Not the project team, developer, or building owner but the #leaseholder
#lacrossefire case isn’t cause for celebration by UK building owners or leaseholders, it took over 4yrs for the decision to me made & subject to appeal

Owners & residents have had to live in a building that is not safe, although work to replace the cladding should be completed!
