Not on road safety!!

#Chislehurst Conservative Councillor Suraj Sharma has today blocked us. He represents Chislehurst ward yet frequently attacks residents on Twitter then deletes posts.

His 25 May reply to a lady, calling her an "imbecile" was reported in the local press @NewsShopper yesterday. He has been condemned for this locally and reported to the Conservative party for this action.

"Imbecile" was used as she did not agree with Councillor Sharma’s aggressive tweet supporting Dominic Cummings. Please note our local Conservative MP @neill_bob said yesterday Cummings should resign.

We ourselves have suffered at the hands of Councillor Sharma. This is the mildest one. There are other tweets (and emails) we've received that we will not show as we find them offensive and very upsetting. One contains a word Twitter would remove.

When we complained to @LBofBromley about the worse ones, we received this reply on 12 November 2019.

They were not interested in taking it forward. We were disappointed. Theirs was a mild reaction considering the tweets we had shown them.

We were also very sad to see this previous tweet from Councillor Sharma.

Suffice to say, it has been a difficult three years campaigning for #RoadSafety in #Chislehurst, as women.

So, and this is really not a Party political point.

If you live in #Chislehurst and vote Conservative please, please reconsider whether you would vote for this Councillor at the next local election.

We are sure there are better candidates in the Conservative Party ranks here.

We know of local hard working #Chislehurst volunteers who would make excellent Councillors & they know who they are (as probably do you!). The people who put their heart and soul into helping others for years on end & have done amazing things for our community during #COVID__19
