reasons to stan GFRIEND:

gfriend is an organic group with organic growth and success. a group that came from a small company with ZERO privilege and no media play. from being the only group to exist in an unknown company to being one of the biggest girlgroup in korea.

they did that on their own. people often normalize hate on them for having 'the same sounds' every comeback. they were always insulted and called boring because of their songs that are different from the typical songs u hear from girlgroups.

this is what makes gfriend different from any other groups. while most girlgroups are following the trends of the same sounds and concepts gfriend never follows the westernised trends. gfriend doesnt follow trends, they create them.

they're always keeping their style and not following trends. in the midst of other groups releasing the trendy songs and concept, gfriend always takes the risk to release something different.

they took the risk to release an orchestral pop / classical music knowing that it is very risky choice. but im glad that they chose to stick to their own individuality and not following the trends. this makes them rare and very unique.

im not trying to degrade other groups but gfriend is one of groups with the most meaningful lyrics in their songs with minimal english. they don't try to make their songs catchy. something rare in kpop nowadays.

this makes their songs more meaningful and not your typical song with repetitive lyrics. gfriend's concepts go more into the fantasy side with classical and melancholy music which is what i love about them. however, their lyrics and concepts always get overlooked.

people often compare gfriend to big 3 girlgroups not knowing that they actually won even more awards than those groups. imagine a girlgroup from a small company being as equal to big 3 groups. people should stop normalizing hate on gfriend.

vocals. i bet many of us can agree that gfriend is one of the group with the best vocals in this generation!!! they have one of the strongest vocal line. especially yuju the main vocalist have proven that she's one of the BEST vocalist through her performances.

but the sad thing is that unlike the past, Yuju seldom get included in group collabs because people are scared that she might outshine other artists. but this shows how powerful she is as a vocalist even those who doesn't stan gfriend recognize that.

even their lead vocalist is on par as the main vocalist and the other members are as good as the lead vocalist???? that's how good they are. gfriend have always been known for their vocals, synchronize dancing and hard choreographies.

they are always stable in singing while dancing to hard choreographies while being so synchronize. all the members are strong in dancing. however sinb the main dancer is very underrated bc she wasn't promoted well as a main dancer. but that doesn't mean she's not a good dancer.

but that doesn't mean she's not a good dancer. she doesn't try to stand out more than the other members when it comes to dancing. she tries to fit in with them so that she doesn't overshadow them as a main dancer.

she knows how to adjust and blend in which i as a dancer knows it requires alot of effort. sinb dancing with a group and sinb dancing alone are so different. that's one trait of an amazing dancer.

they often get hate for their visuals. i know their visuals may not be the top but they're BEAUTIFUL ASF. trust me. they are all natural.

i know it may be difficult for some of you to like their songs bc it was like that for me too at first! but it doesn't hurt to try right??? u may not like their songs at first listen but slowly, u'll get to like it and start to realise that their songs are not the same!

if u really want to get to know them u can watch shows like weekly idol and idol room where u can get to know their personalities first. their most recent show that u can watch is Memoria! they also have short clips of them like Bangtan bomb called G-ING.

as a group that doesn't come from a big3 company they are doing SO WELL and they're already big without even having to promote in the US. JUST by promoting in asia
