The argument about hindsight in relation to hospital patients being sent to care homes is frustratingly circular and ignores that care workers raised concerns about PPE and testing whilst it was still happening. Care workers weren’t using hindsight, they were ringing an alarm.
Saying concerns are only in hindsight ignores the real experiences of care workers and erases their campaigning for proper PPE and testing. It’s insulting and disrespectful to a workforce which has been put through hell. Their bravery in speaking out publicly saved lives.
The Scottish Government actually moved to sort out PPE, eventually testing and now sick pay. Not because of hindsight but because of the reality on the ground. The question isnt one of hindsight it’s about foresight. Many problems in care homes were predictable, indeed well known
