Thank you all Australians, small businesses & companies that pay your taxes & Medicare levies. Thank you to all unions & business groups for supporting equality across Australia. My son Jaden can't walk, talk or feed himself. He qualified this week for the disability pension.
Society is measured by its ability to take care of its most vulnerable. Jaden can't speak so I must speak for him. Doesn't matter if you are the highest paid exec or lowest paid worker, you are all helping him.
Jaden doesn't care about money. If I hand him notes he throws them on the floor. It matters not to him your race, your religion, your disabilitiy, your faults, your crimes or the way you look. He just doesn't care. He is a much better person than I will ever be. He is pure human.
Jaden has a rare chromosome disorder called 1p36 deletion syndrome. Breaking this down backwards, the term syndrome just means pattern.
1p36 deletion refers to genetic code. 1p refers to the first chromosome pairing. On band 36 of that pairing Jaden is missing the genetic code. He can't do a lot of stuff but one thing he can't comprehend is hate.
