Tribune's first editorial in 1937 said, "either we shall defeat capitalism or we shall be destroyed by it."

Ours is not a socialism of platitudes, evacuated of all meaning to provide a shield for charlatans.

These candidates are not Tribunites. And we will say so. https://twitter.com/LabourList/status/1265598611808636928
A Tribune Group of MPs first emerged because Eric Heffer *asked* the magazine for permission to use the name.

He believed that the parliamentary left could be better cohered if anchored in an intellectual project.

The editorial board agreed, that's why permission was granted.
The current grouping calling itself Tribune does not even have continuity with the 1960s group. It was founded out of thin air in the 2000s.

It is not on the left, not even the soft left, and it uses the name Tribune with no respect whatsoever for our tradition.
Launching an NEC campaign as "socialists of the Tribunite left" is a transparent attempt to fool members into believing they have the endorsement of the magazine.

It will backfire because they do not – and we have a magazine with 10,000+ subscribers to say so.
