This thread is on behalf of my dear sweet soulmate @goldiejames , who passed away earlier this month after has battle with lung cancer . RIP to a dedicated patriot and a decent , caring human being. I’ll now investigate what’s happening to other illnesses during this “pandemic”
Before that I’ll explain the lead up to James’s untimely death. He had one lung after beating cancer roughly 8 years ago. He started feeling unwell last July/August and had an X-ray in September, he wasn’t diagnosed till December and his treatment started 31st January
He had five days worth of Radiotherapy then started a course of Chemotherapy, he’d had two sessions out of six of chemo and was about to go for a third when lockdown happened, his doctor cancelled his treatment for one month then they spoke on the phone after that
She assessed that he’d be ok for another month without any treatment, this is when he deteriorated rapidly. Back on Jan 17 of this year James had to have an emergency procedure to laser off a piece of the tumour that was blocking his windpipe, they told him there that
he’d have to do this again in the not so distant future, they also told him that they could keep the cancer at bay and freeze it after shrinking it, so they gave him hope. After the phone convo with his doc and assessment that he could wait another month his breathing
Worsened , just like back in January. He was due a scan on Friday 8th May before having to have the emergency procedure again but didn’t make it to the scan and died early the next morning
He was very apprehensive of going to hospital because of the coronavirus as if he died there he was worried they’d put covid19 on his certificate, I think that’s why he didn’t call 999 earlier that week. So they stuffed up a quick diagnosis by a failed procedure in November
Delayed his treatment till the last day of January, then stopped his treatment altogether in March . Yet we’re supposed to believe this lockdown is about saving lives . Ok so what about serious illnesses other than Covid?
I was due a colonoscopy and an ultrasound which have both been delayed , a few years ago I had 3 precancerous polyps removed hence the colonoscopy and the ultrasound is to make sure I haven’t got ovarian cancer. Both postponed because of Covid.
That’s just James and I , two ends of the cancer spectrum . With that back story complete I’ll now do a bit of research , it might take a few days so bear with me while I add more to this thread .
