This is a valid question to be honest. This is really about the way you visualise and understand God and the problem of evil and suffering. This is a bit of a Philosophical one but bear with: https://twitter.com/CarlosWavey/status/1265570717057404931
Before I start this thread, this is me looking at this problem in the eyes of a Philosopher because that is what I am academically, happy to debate but don't take any of this personal... I'm just here to educate!
So the problem of evil is the question/debate of how and why God can exist when there is evil and suffering in the world such as police brutality, a pandemic, and earthquakes for example.
One argument is that because humans have free will, things like a pandemic and maybe even police brutality is out of 'God's control' & is something that we as humans need to sort out amongst ourselves. This argument raises the question of whether God is all powerful to begin with
There are sooo many different responses to this debate but I'll just go with the one I think it's best for you know about which is the inconsistent triad. You might have seen a triangle like this where you can only pick two out of 3 things because all 3 things are incompatible
The Inconsistent Triad is an argument against the concept of an all-powerful and all-loving God whilst suffering and evil exists.
The existence of evil and suffering alongside an all-loving (omnibenevolent) and all-powerful (omnipotent) God are basically contradictory and cannot exist together with evil. These doodles should explain what I'm trying to say:
So what do you think? It's ok to go either way but both options have limitations. I hope that gives some sort of Philosophical explanation
