Remember when Ch 7 bought the rights to the NSL and we learned that it "sufficated (sic) the sport, much to the chagrin of its supporters" ... all to please the AFL?

Soccer fans have held a grudge against Ch 7 ever since.

As a sport, soccer (or football, whatever) probably looks weak from the outside. But when provoked, when wronged, the reaction from the game is always incendiary, relentless, passionate. You don't want that coming for you.

Interesting times ahead.

Should point out this isn't meant to equate Ch7 and Fox coverage. Like the A-L itself, at its best, A-L on Fox was superb. Best production the game's ever seen here. My point is, people will forget that very quickly and turn if they think the game has been taken advantage of.
