Ireland, did you know that there's a social welfare benefit which requires you work full time in order to receive it? It's also means tested, which means no matter how many hours you work, if your household brings in X amount of income, you won't be paid for that work.

1/
2/ Or, if you are in receipt of another social benefit payment, such as lone parent payment, it doesn't matter if you work at this job 24/7, you'll only be eligible for half of the benefit each week. Also, you are not eligible for the #COVID19 payment.
3/ Do you know what this social welfare payment is which requires you to work full time to receive it & be under a certain household income level despite the hours you work?

Carer's Allowance.

You could be a #carer providing 24/7 nursing level care & still not qualify.
4/ Or, you could be a #carer providing 24/7 nursing level care and only qualify for half the payment because you receive another benefit such as lone parent pymnt.
5/ #Carers are not included in the #COVID19 payment discussions, but should be. Must be. Why? Because our workload has increased exponentially as we now receive no in or out of home supports. No school. No day services. No respite. Just more work.
6/ As such, family #carers are the only group of workers who are actually working MORE during #COVID19 but receiving less in supports and no more in the way of financial supports, all the while carrying a heavier financial, physical & emotional burden.
7/
Full rate Carer's Allowance = €219 p/w
Half rate Carer's Allowance = €108.50 p/w

"To be entitled to Carer's Allowance you must:
Be living with, or in a position to provide FULL-TIME care and attention to a person in need of care who does not normally live in an institution"
