#Bracknell MP @JamesSunderl has issued a new statement on the Dominic Cummings situation. Key points coming up: https://www.jamessunderland.org.uk/news/response-constituents-regarding-dominic-cummings
He says he has been "inundated" w/ emails relating to Cummings and now he has had the chance to hear DC explain his logic he is sure "we can all sympathise with the actions of a devoted father in wanting to protect his family."
He goes on to say he would be "unlikely" to make the same call DC did, however, and appreciates "many" see the adviser's actions as a "serious error of judgement."
Mr Sunderland "understands Cummings acted in reasonable faith" but he is also "hugely sympathetic" to the "anger of constituents who have followed the rules and "made great personal sacrifices".
The key line: "To answer the question many have posed, I do not believe that it is right for me as new backbencher to sanctimoniously demand that Dominic Cummings loses his job."

He thinks a "wider investigation" would help to ease tensions, but adds this is a matter for No10.
Finally, his statement concludes: "I have articulated my views as honestly as I can and you will wish to be assured that I have noted the full depth of your feelings loud and clear...
...You may not agree w/ me but as ever I have promised to be as open as I can and always act in the best interests of the Bracknell constituency." Full story on @bracknellnews later.
