So I went to the gym for the first time in almost 3 months today (save your judgements, this for my mental health thank you)...
I was impressed by how @FitnessFirstME has set the whole thing up. First, you’re only allowed in if you booked in advance (for classes or gym access. You can’t do both). Then your temperature is taken at the door.
You have to bring your own towel and water. Masks should be worn at all times. Machines are spread across the gym floor so there’s enough space between them. There are signs, sanitisers and wipes everywhere.
Showers and steam/sauna rooms are closed and only a small section of the changing room is available for use. Trainers and staff maintain distance throughout while a manager watches over them.
Once your one hour is over, you’re politely asked to leave. The gym then closes for 30 minutes as staff disinfected the whole place before opening for the next one-hour slot.
I felt safe and will return. I understand this is not for everyone. And I’m definitely not doing this for social media posts as someone suggested. But let’s all reserve judgement because we don’t all have the same circumstances. Be nice. We’re all #InThisTogether.
