one thing I think I want to talk about more in future is idol worship on the left. I think a lot of problems are coming from communities built around creators that just see a disagreement and immediately see it as an opportunity to tear apart their fav's designated opponent
definitely not excluding myself from this, but just in general I see this thing where people amass large "fandoms" and then whenever they have a miscommunication with another leftist figure, it's effectively cancellation in all but name as their community immediately declares war
people can trick themselves into trusting the judgement of their favs to such an extent that the idea they could be wrong or even just that the discussion could be more complicated becomes offensive. and I think that's especially harmful for specifically anti-hierarchal movements
totally not just saying this because I just had to deal with a thousand chapos who declared me the next joy ann reid because I did a poor job wording that I don't think the problem with bernie's campaign was a lack of class solidarity lmao
