If you haven’t checked out the newest issue of @SweetLiterary, what are you doing? It’s the flash essay contest issue! And if you look closely, you might notice a letter from me, your trusty new CNF editor 😉 https://sweetlit.com
Make sure you check out @IsSheDreaming’s essay “Gale Force”: “The storm intensified as I watched tufts of silky white hair peeking over pale blue sheets when the porters steered my mother to the operating room elevators. Away from me.” https://sweetlit.com/issue-12-3/essay-jennifer-smith-gray/
And you’ll want to read @debragwartney’s essay “Faraway/Nearby”: “As I have each time I’ve stood in front of a piece of art, I wonder how I’m supposed to feel. Is this a quiver of envy inside me—jealousy of the woman whose every movement is attended to?” https://sweetlit.com/issue-12-3/essay-debra-gwartney/
Each of these essays makes me gasp and sigh and hold my breath. They move me in ways I’ve needed to be moved during, well, everything going on. I hope you take your time with each essay, each word, each pause. Breathe.
And that’s it for this thread. If I continue gushing, I’ll never be able to stop. If you’re a reader of @SweetLiterary, thank you. We couldn’t do it without you.

Please read these essays! And the poems and fan mail! It’s a spectacular issue. Don’t trust me? Read it.
