This is what I see as the issue. Some people think:
1. Remove LC
2. Get better settlement terms

Do people really think that HMRC will be minded to offer better settlement terms? You've seen the behaviour to date.

If families only discover later that those with open years are no further forward, but all the MP support has left the building, patting themselves on the back, while those with open years are left to settle on unfair terms or get in deeper! Will there be much anguish to some?
I've saved this image as "LCAG plans summarised". Use the MPs & the force of the law to save those with no open years and then ask HMRC nicely if they'd like to give better terms to the mugs who are left.
