1/8 Someone just asked me why @matigary is now anti-opposition (read MDC-A) & @nelsonchamisa. It looks like many on these streets don't know how it started. Hence assumption he was "bought". Here's what happened for those here who profess ignorance:

2/8 When @nelsonchamisa took over @MDCAllianceZW leadership, just before the funeral of Morgan Tsvangirai, @matigary immediately called the move unconstitutional & objected. A tonne of bricks was heaped on him by NC's supporters immediately & Mati coined the term "Nerrorists"..

3/8...for NC's supporters coz of the way they terrorised anyone who questioned the unconstitutional way in which NC took over leadership of the Alliance & MDC-T. Mati stubbornly stuck to his position amidst the insults &

4/8...there was even a coordinated "exposé" of the guy said to be behind the @matigary handle by @PacheduZW. After this expose, we noticed Mati became an even more obstinate advocate of the ruling party & the bane of western sanctions on Zimbabwe.

5/8 Through the 2018 elections, he was against MDC-A & NC mostly because of the unconstitutional manner of the Alliance leader's ascent to power in the opposition (and also what he called the "sanctions-begging". The insults heaped on him, I believe, pushed him to other extreme.

6/8 @matigary even called for a law to try anyone who called for sanctions against Zimbabwe for treason. This incensed NC's supporters even further because it was directed at NC, Biti etc.

7/8 Like other people on these streets, I believe he was pushed into being the Matigary we know today by those who thought they could insult him into changing his mind. From that time, he implacably anti-Chamisa & Alliance. Thought I'd share!

8/8 You have to give to him, he has absolutely consistent on that point and has never ever wavered, not even once. He'll probably change if Chamisa manages to get the 2014 structures behind him & wins leadership at an MDC-T Congress properly, which is doable, yes, @matigary?
