I know this is also the opinion of some of the internet's worst twats but: I don't think this editorialising tone from the host of the show is a good idea https://twitter.com/robdelaney/status/1265573416909889538
I think he did, and you think he did, but "Dominic Cummings broke the rules" is not a hard fact and you cannot have the presenter stating it as such.

Not convinced by this. The problem with BBC reporting in those cases was false balance: undue prominence to poorly evidenced claims. You can fix that without having the host open the show by saying eg "Brexit will cost Britain a lot of money" to camera https://twitter.com/t0nyyates/status/1265645425790459904?s=20
HOWEVER, given the endless instances of lost objectivity elsewhere on BBC News that are apparently fine (Maitlis' own comments on unions just the other day, for example), to cave so quickly here because she was criticising the government is pathetic https://twitter.com/BBCNewsPR/status/1265666465308573696?s=19
I mean, I can see what case one might make for the Cummings remarks being over the line and this not being but hoo boy, I wouldn't want to build a house on that distinction https://twitter.com/shirleymush/status/1262883692613156866?s=20
Let's hope these staff are, uh, in the grip of the unions https://twitter.com/OwenJones84/status/1265674604774858752?s=20
ROGER: (sotto voce) They've had a row, she's refused to present the programme https://twitter.com/esmewren/status/1265726376365174790?s=20
