It's increasingly becoming apparent that conferences that go online will need to adapt. More thought is needed around interaction and participation, practical sessions and a shorter conference as no one is going to sit through 7 hours of content online. 1/3
Speakers need to learn how to adapt their talks, use closed caption text and possibly a microphone for better audio. Where possible a webcam to appear in shot and if possible stand, as presentations are always improved by being stood up rather than slouched over a desk. 2/3
Much thought needs to be given as to how presentations are archived, it's not good enough just to share slides as context is removed. Where possible, record the presentations and host them on the conference/organiser site and/or a YouTube Channel, extract audio for a podcast. 3/3
