Bc I live in a nice neighborhood, every quote or proposal I get is marked up like 40%. I used to just pay bc I HATE haggling. But if I don’t haggle people will just bend me over and take more and more of my money. It would be great if people could just give me an honest price...

But they won’t so I always have to fu**in% haggle. I’m not cheap, I usually over tip... but when it comes to somebody trying to take advantage of me because they don’t think I will fight for a fair deal, I fight out of principal, not greed.

Billionaires are ALWAYS willing to haggle..It’s why they are billionaires. Each proposal the players get is just another part of the haggling process. You can call players greedy but if they just say “Durr I just want to play baseball for the people” and accept the first offer...

They’d look great! But they’d basically be handing over millions of dollars to franchises that are already worth billions of dollars just to avoid a fight.

Not a single player is looking for empathy. They know how lucky they are. They are just cautiously negotiating a fair deal.

The process is ugly. It’s ugly because it has to be ugly. If it’s not ugly, somebody is getting f%#*ed. That’s just the way it is. It will all work out and there will be baseball soon enough, the process just has to play itself out... Until then maybe just ignore it all?
