Since 23rd March' 2020, your govt has ordered lock down of economic activity through out the state of Maharashtra..Central govt has urged business enterprises to pay salaries to their employees..
Moreover state govt and @mybmc have already+
1/7
+collected License fees from Hotels, Resorts, Restaurants, Malls, Cinemas etc..Professional tax from the self employed is recovered for the full year.. #MCGM has recovered the Shops & Establishment fees for the full year in advance..
2/7
In near future, #Lockdown will be lifted & people will pick up pieces of their lives..However, more than 2 months of #Lockdown has broken the back of small and medium business enterprises..
In order to help them return back to their original status, govt has to hand hold them
3/7
In my view, the least the #BMC & the state govt can do for small and medium business enterprises as under:
1) Refund one year license fees recovered from Hotels, Restaurants, Resorts, Malls, Cinema Halls etc.
2) Refund 1 year Professional tax recovered from the self employed.
4/7
If such refunds causes stress on fiscal situation then such refunds may be spread over 2 years..75% in the 1st financial year & 25% in the second financial year.
3) Waive property tax on commercial establishments for 6 months atleast..Likewise minimum water/sewerage+
5/7
+ tax should also be waived for 6 months..
4) Pharmaceutical industry is going to be very important in tackling Covid crisis..Licence renewal fees should be waived for one year as well as product approval fees should also be waived..
This waivers should be for one time.

I am of the firm opinion that the small and the medium business enterprises in Mumbai, deserves hand holding by both @mybmc and the state govt, to help them regain their financial health..
This is absolutely necessary because, they provide employment as well as taxes.
