The burden of addressing the issue of police brutality does not fall on me or my brothers. It’s so so hard not to be numb to this problem when you wrestle with it everyday. Y’all don’t need to remind me of my reality.
More thoughts. We gotta stop acting like every murder or “Karen” incident is some kind of tipping point - it’s not. This is a long fight that didn’t start and won’t end in our lifetimes. We need to act like it.
If you’re looking for something to do right now, find out who has been organizing in your community. Folks who have been on the front lines risking it all since before the hashtag. Listen to them and do what they ask. Leverage all your privilege to support them.
