I& #39;ve been seeing this fan wars between 2 sets of fans who demean other players for the sake of proving that the player they are a fan of is the best in the world.
And apparently, the latest one has been Rahul Dravid v Sachin Tendulkar.

We can all be fans of cricketers/politicians/actors. The problem comes when we have to fight with another set of fans to prove someone is mightier than the other. Thats the biggest problem. But I see another pattern emerging here which in itself is another type of fanboyism (2/n)
Since yday, there have been a few accounts on my TL that has ridiculed the fan war. Rightly so. But they dont stop there. They& #39;re further ridiculing Dravid because he& #39;s being compared with sachin & how is that even fair is their point. How is this in itself not a fanboyism? (3/n)
If you& #39;re not a fanboy, just call out such fan wars & tell its ridiculous to compare players & talk this way. But instead you say "how can sachin even be compared with xyz", "xyz had such a batting style that cant be compared with sachin& #39;s", you& #39;re also ridiculing xyz. (4/n)
This is again a fanboyism in its own way & doesn& #39;t make it better than the ones that already exists & you guys aren& #39;t any better than the guys you& #39;re calling out for being fanboys. PS, this thread isn& #39;t because xyz is my account& #39;s dp. Thats why I& #39;ve used xyz. It& #39;s common for all.
