I want to write an essay on the concept of the 'himbo' and why it's become a craze among girls lately, and what it means as a metanarrative of toxic masculinity.

Why girls want a dumb sweetheart, and the underlying fear of manipulative men that's brought it about
everyone nowadays wants a tired dad, or a dumb sweetheart himbo, or something like that, because at their core these types of men are effectively harmless either because they're too dumb to gaslight you, or too tired to, and what this says about the state of guys in general today
I feel like it's a VERY GENUINE FEAR of many girls nowadays that guys are PUAs, they're smart enough to appear kind but then 3 months later they show their face as reddit poisoned sociopaths who try to manipulate you and become a post on /r/relationships
so why waste those 3 months with guys that are too tainted nowadays by the internet's ever-present toxicity, when you can just make fanart/fanfics of a big cute idiot who accidentally spills ketchup on the poem he wrote you

this is the sad underbelly to the himbo phenomenon
"jess this is all very generalizing about men, there are guys out here who aren't like this!!"

it's true, I've seen them, they're good people. but a lot of them are the kind who, if I brought this up to them... they'd get defensive and dismissive... like every other guy
and nowadays man...... it's just too much effort. it takes too much fucking energy to walk on eggshells until the tiny red flags pop up. I can't do it, man..... I can't anymore. I don't have the fucking emotional energy!!!
thank you to @MinkyuLee1 for this great thread that inspired this. Please think about it fellas https://twitter.com/MinkyuLee1/status/1265491480996708358
to be a bit more precise when I say "think about it" what I mean is, you don't have to pretend to be this fictional himbo ideal, but rather..... how can you demonstrate being trustworthy, safe, honest and transparent, not disdainful of emotions or feelings etc
try to do that ok
that's all I want........ please I'm dying over here. we're fuckin dying okay
