1/n This is a thread about my experiences in the cesspool otherwise known as Twitter.
2/n Yes, I called it a cesspool. I did that because I find it funny some people will say "yes it's awful", others will say "no you're wrong it's amazing", and yet others will get that I'm joking while also not joking: Twitter is a cesspool, and it also isn't.
3/n One fun thing is that because of the absence of tone I could write a sentence like "Hannity is probably working with Trump's campaign to get him re-elected and that's why he thinks masks are good now".

How you read that sentence differs depending if you're a Dem/Rep
4/n How I actually mean that sentence is to say simply what I think IS happening. Notice there is no value judgement in there? But I can sure make you THINK there's a value judgement in there.
5/n There seem to be 2 types of belief systems. 1) "given problem X exists, we should do Y to reduce the impact". 2) "it is bad that X exists, remove X,."

Often 2's will yell at 1's for not doing enough or "perpetuating the issue" and 1's will say 2's live in fantasyland.
6/n Subtlety is also lost

The implicit assumption I wanted readers to think is that an investor is better than an asset manager.

Yet BAM incremental ROIC on $1 of fee income > CSU ROIIC from an additional acquisition.
7/n Another curious thing is that people are FAR nicer in DM's than they are in public. It's astounding how much nicer.

That is the exact opposite of what I'd expect, and it is interesting to me to think about why.
8/n In closing, this thread has no point. I find studying people interesting. I find doing it on a platform derived of tone, body language, and with anonymity moreso because weird idiosyncrasies come up. It's fun putting things out there and seeing the response.
