So I did some quick notes on the MPLS city council members responses to the last 24 hours.

5 of 13 have made no real comment.
10 of 13 have said nothing particularly useful.
only one was recognizably on the ground tonight as the police fired weapons against unarmed protesters.
Minneapolis cops killed a Black man in the street. In full daylight. On video. 75% of our city council had nothing useful to say about that.
Minneapolis cops responded to a hurting and mourning community with rubber bullets and tear gas. TEAR GAS. In the middle of a pandemic largely focused on respiratory distress.

1 out of 13 council members stepped up to be present with their community through the thick of it.
Not to mention @MayorFrey and MPD Chief Arradondo's lack of comment as their cops assaulted protesters in the street. In the middle of a thunderstorm. During a pandemic.
Particularly frustrated by the lack of any personal statement from @lisabendermpls. Does this not matter to you enough to say anything?
Is this the leadership we want? Violence, pure and simple, executed against the community. And one. ONE out of THIRTEEN show up to stand with the community as they are attacked. props to @jeremiah4north for being there. But honestly, fuck this city.
Three action points for you all coming out of this.

1. Call your council member tomorrow and DEMAND they condemn the actions of MPD over the last 24 hours.
2. Get involved with groups like @reclaimtheblock and start working towards abolition.
3. Vote these people out.
