Just because I love PUBG doesn't mean I'll hide my disappointment when I see what could've been. This latest patch has been great IMO - my issue is how long it has taken to get to where we're at while still having GLARING problems. Small thread (?)
Quickly lets talk about launch - December 2017, despite having NUMEROUS bugs and horrendous performance issues the game gets pushed to full release on PC which, honestly, looking back at it seems like PC users got the better experience - considering console got THIS
As a spectator, this looked like banking on the exploding popularity of PUBG at the cost of the consumer experience. Slowly things improved..like very slowly. Which is interesting because at this point I'm sure business was booming, especially with loot crates. Which reminds me..
Loot crates, tbf I didn't have a problem with them except for at the time some of the "rare skins" were like...orange weapons or just absolutely uninspired. Being able to trade skins was cool but they ended up taking that away for some reason or another. Still highly requested ft
Now we're at PEAK PUBG - huge streamers playing (Shroud, Doc, Ninja, Summit, Grimmz, etc) all voicing their opinions about performance but still enjoying the game - and we got a new map to look forward to, Sanhok on the experimental server
Knock knock, who's there? CHEATERS. They're getting reported and some are being dealt with but the whole process seems like a whole joke because they just WON'T region lock (back when they could) https://www.thegamer.com/pubg-cheaters-13-million/
As time goes on and we get closer to 2019 we are still hearing echoes in the community:

- what about sound?
- performance issues
- crashing
- game breaking bugs
- why remove the leaderboard?

Is this what a FULLY released title is? 🤔
The lack of communication between then playerbase and devs was finally addressed with some dev letters, but not actual improvement, atleast not in ways easily perceived. Now we have Vikendi, ANOTHER map released when bugs like "getting bumped by furniture" are still a thing.
At this point I don't even understand why the Test server exists, players find bugs, give feedback and patches still come through with those same issues. Which now takes us to 2020 and the future of PUBG.
PUBG is in decline. Just how things go, I'll keep playing cuz I still find fun in it and I've met some awesome folk that love it too - but tell me how is it possible that the dive bug still exists? That the increase/decrease buttons in the store don't work?!
It's nuts, but PUBG is the best/worst game I've ever played.
