Earlier today I posed a question to non-Black folk asking what they were doing to help us cultivate space for rest.

Overwhelming, folks shared how they called out racism or what they were reading but very few people actually gave examples of what they were doing to help us rest.
Why is it so hard to imagine what it's like to be tender with us, to nurture us, to extend compassion to us?

Why is our care such an obscure concept to grasp?

Why can't folk conceive of our rest?
On a day when we've seen violence after violence committed against Black folks it's frustrating that most people really couldn't pause to imagine, consider, or articulate what cultivating care that addresses our weariness might look like.

If not today then when?
