Black nationalism is the language of the Black masses and Black working-class. Any form of Black radicalism has to incorporate some form of Black nationalism.
This is important to consider b/c of a lot of hip "racial justice" lingo doesn't emerge nor speak to the Black masses, the very ppl it claims to represent. Any socialist project that seeks to engage Black ppl has to engage Black nationalism seriously rather than write it off.
If you listen closely to Malcolm X's speeches, his audience was not white liberals nor polished Black folks -- he was speaking to regular, working-class Black ppl who were screwed by & fed up w/ the white power structure.
This should be appreciated more in leftist circles, esp. when it comes to engaging the Black Left. Black nationalism is a populist language & the language of the Black masses; it is part of the Black freedom struggle. It can be synthesized & updated but shouldn't be written off.
The pictures are from this book -- "Black Bourgeoisie." Just finished it. Great book. Written in 1957 but still relevant.
