Sometimes he forgets his medication until LATE in the day and he’s like
‘Ohhh that’s what i was forgetting’ and he gets so overwhelmed when he forgets something, he won’t stop thinking about it for DAYS, completely ignoring everything else. Hux has to snap

Him out of a little spacey moment and walks him through what he had done previously, and if he can’t remember something, Hux gives him suggestions to help. When Ben finally finds what he had lost, he always shows up wherever Hux is with the stupidest grin on his face

And thanks Hux. Hux is always rolling his eyes and telling him not to thank him for anything.
Sometimes Ben isn’t paying a lick of attention to Hux lecturing him, finding a seam on the man’s shirt much too intricate. He doesn’t /mean/ to lose interest, it just happened and

sometimes he will catch himself and tune back in. Hux recognizes this nearly everytime, and just drops what he’s explaining and asks Ben how his day was, and will happily listen to the younger man go on about whatever he had found interesting. He really does love Ben.

Ben has low days where he just doesn’t feel good and feels like he’s not his real person, or just not feeling anything at all. Hux is there to remind him to take his meds, to ask him what he would want for meals, and just overall keep an eye on him.

Even with his meds, sometimes it just doesn’t feel like it is working and he can’t understand why Hux is staying with him, he’s always forgetting things and can’t pay attention to anything important. Hux will just hold him and remind him that no matter how he functions,

he loves him very much and wouldn’t ask for him to change or ‘get better’. It gives him things to do, even if repeating something to Ben gets a little annoying. But Hux understands, he’s not perfect either. But they’re two halves of a whole that fit together.

Ben gives Hux a reason to smile and listen, he gives Hux a sense of need and affection. Hux gives Ben an anchor to hold on to, to just slow things down for a moment and have him breathe. Hux helps him in everyway possible, and they both solve eachother with unconditional love.
