Once a young lawyer happened to visit Sringeri. Coming to Narasimhavanam, he went up to and told a disciple, "I came here for sight-seeing.

I am an Athiest, and I am just curious to see what the Head of the Math is like. Can I see Him? However, as I have no respect for Sanyasis, I will neither remove my shirt nor prostrate before Him".
The disciple replied, "Acharyal will be giving Darshan in a few minutes.

The disciple then went inside and in a few minutes, opened the door for people to enter for Darshan. The lawyer followed the group of devotees into the room but stood right at the back of the crowd.

In a few moments, Acharyal"s eyes fell on him. Acharyal beckoned to him, holding a fruit in His hand. The lawyer stepped forward, abruptly prostrated and remained so. Some time elapsed, but the man did not show signs of getting up. Finally, Acharyal Himself told him to rise.
The man got up with tears in his eyes and a choked voice, requested Acharyal to bless him. Acharyal gave him His blessings and also prasad. The man then went out.
The disciple emerged and closed the door. He found that the lawyer was the sole man in the verandah.

The lawyer told the disciple that he was waiting for him, and queried, "Are you wondering why I behaved in this fashion?" The disciple answered, "No, I have witnessed such happenings very often!" Source: Sri Sastri Sivaraman Ji
This day in 1931 HH Sri Sri Abhinava Vidyateertha Jyeshta Mahasannidhanam #SringeriJagadGuru was initiated into sannyasa ashrama, when HH was 14.

दयासान्द्रं बालं निखिलजगतीरक्षणचणं
हरन्तं विघ्नाद्रिं विमलविमलैर्वीक्षणचयैः ।
परब्रह्माकारं प्रणवविदितं शान्तमनसं
गुरुं विद्यातीर्थं कलयत बुधाश्चित्तकमले ॥
