Me: the mine wars, yeah
Lawyer: I never knew! and I was like haha wow like did they purposely keep this out of my history classes
Me: well
Lawyer: yeah ok right

Me: yeah the history of push back on capitalism in the US is really long and we're sort of taught that it ran its course, like people just thought better of it one day, and it was barely there to begin with
Lawyer: yeah when in reality you have the government killing people!!

There's no punchline to this thread I just enjoy being around for these moments of realization because they were huge for me too
