A thread explaining NFTs advantages and blockchain game can take advantage of them...
Multiplayer games have always been very fun. From MMORPG games, to MOBAS and battle royales, all have different battle styles and items, which can be purchased through the game stores.
This is an usual practice, but ultimately they have been relying on "Loot Boxes", which makes all games being more pay to win. These lootboxes are also not based on luck, rather they are based on how many "rare" items you have got before
(Ex. It is almost impossible getting 2 "legendary items" one after the other)
What blockchain games bring to the table are many features:
1. If you use a "smart contract", you can show the user that the proccess of buying loot boxes is completely transparent, since a smart contract code is public and on the blockchain. This is what @GodsUnchained does, and has been working great so far.
2. You own your items. The server that hosts the game, cannot acces them, nor ban you from trading them. This might not seem like a big one, but lets take a look at recent events: Blizzard has been banning players for protesting against china, making their accounts unavailable.
3. You build an economy around your game. Just imagine if you could get real money from WoW. You go raiding with your friends, find a rare item, and sell them for ETH in the market...
...All items that you find in the game, can be sold for real money. Just take a look at games like @AxieInfinity , where you win Small Love Potions sometimes when you win a game, and those are trading for money.
Also take a look at @decentraland and @cryptovoxels , they have integrated other games inside their platform, and you can use them and view them in your own properties.
5. You can give history to your items. Just imagine this scenario: There is a 10000 player battle royale where only one player survives, and he has this regular sword...
Well, now that sword has a history, and he can sell it in the market knowing it is the "Mighty sword that defeated a 10000 beasts". This adds a lot of immersion to videogames, something you cannot do with non-blockchain games.
There are other features, which I don't think they can be explained in a twitter thread, however I am going to explain more in a blog post.
