Welcome to this introductory thread for Midori Mizuno! With this I hope I can convince you into giving her the support I fully believe she deserves! ♡

First and foremost I’ll start off by listing all the credits I took most of the material here from + found translations! Unfortunately not everything of Midori’s is translated and I am unable to translate it myself

so I am eternally grateful to all those who have provided me with info thus far!

Starting off with the basics! Her full name is Midori Mizuno, 18 years old, and comes from the Aichi prefecture! Her birthday is December 5th (Sagittarius), with a height of 164 cm / 5’3” and weight of 47 kg / 103 lbs! She’s also a cool attribute idol!

Midori as of 2020 still remains an unvoiced idol and has unfortunately been unranked in all elections up until now! I hope for this to change and for her to gain the support I think she deserves!

One of the most important things about Midori is her association and talent for archery. She is one of the many idols in Deresute that are considered an athlete/someone who plays a sport. Her ability for archery isn’t something as simple as a hobby either! She’s a national

champion which beyond her being an idol has earned her quite the recognition and fans alone. Some notable things being she’s so skilled that many come from different schools to watch her, and she’s held in high regard by the other members of her club.

Her passion for the sport soars high and she often speaks in a way that often relates or correlates with this so it’s another way to know how important Archery is to her.

Here are just some screenshot examples of her metaphors/casual comments relating or obviously inspired by that.

Onto her personality! Midori in the beginning was a lot more distant and to herself than she is presently! Thanks from the guidance of the producer was she able to open herself up and grow as a person. She went from being aloof and unable to take compliments to opening up a bit

more and having a gentle nature overall. She’s also very genuine and honest with herself or others. Someone who strongly believes that lying does more harm than good. A lot of people and even the other idols look up to her as someone they can get advice from, due to her being

highly respected. Despite this she’s modest about her abilities and doesn’t quite understand why people are inspired by her. Alongside her modesty she also tends to be a perfectionist, apologizing often when she doesn’t think her skills match up to how they should.

She doesn’t understand a lot of modern things, such as not knowing how dangerous alcoholic drinks could be when going out with other idols. She also tends to be clueless even though her aura makes her seem very earnest. Midori is also often teased for being very airheaded

which she is shown to claim she isn’t and gets flustered even at the suggestion. It’s something which usually breaks her very calm composure.

Here are some of the connections Midori is known to have!

For example, she is responsible for teaching Feifei and Mary archery! She seems to be quite the dedicated teacher and even a little bit strict with overall good intentions deep down while Mary falls under being loud and energetic, very impatient and passionate student…

and Feifei is over all excited to learn from her, seemingly having fun. Midori handles Mary surprisingly well, teaching her some lessons by having Mary actually do things in order to learn from her mistakes when she doesn’t listen.

The three of them radiate very comfy mentor/mentee vibes!

Midori is seen to have good relations with Nagisa Aino, Noriko Shiina, Tomoka Wakabayashi, and Yuko Hori due to all of them forming the Ponytail Maiden Alliance or Ponītēru Otome Doumei.

Tomoka, Nagisa, and Midori all get along extra well too since the three are pretty energetic and I like to think they would often hang out and spend time doing things pertaining to their interests or practicing together!

One of Midori’s main units she’s shown in is with Chiaki Kurokawa, known as Brilliant Noir! They both have a lot of interactions in mobamas and their personalities in general complement each other.

Moving onwards! I’m going to be explaining her stories now.

Midori’s first appearance is her at the shrine, practicing and seemingly struggling with hitting accurately so her kouhai try to cheer her up with words of positivity. Midori, having a very serious nature, takes the concerns as superficial. She initially appears very closed off

but not in the sense where she’s rude or harsh, she still makes sure to treat them kindly and ask them to leave her be but it’s obvious that she has a preference to be on her own.

This is when she starts chatting with us (the producer!) saying how she’s noticed us watching her and how she has no intention of becoming an idol. The response we give to that is ‘oh you are confident’ but she denies the claim and insists on that fact she’s speaking

out of experience; having had her share of praises about her appearance. What isn’t important is the outside but to lead an honest life. I take this as her roundabout way of saying she feels she isn’t inherently suited to be an idol. She may hear all these compliments about her

beauty but it isn’t enough. Her way of being honest is admitting to this by flat out rejecting. It paints a picture that she’s someone who follows her ideals or goals of life very heavily. Though, we make a comment about how she seems to be struggling and further add on how

she lacks devotion. She claims her devotion is the way of the bow and has been how she was raised by. This paints the general picture that Midori lived in a very you must be like this or do this… kind of household so her image of devotion is a bit skewed and something

she doesn’t have a 100% understanding of.
It’s how we end up recruiting her; to help her find this devotion she thought she understood this whole time. With that, her first Commu ends and we move onto the second.

The general setting of this commu takes place at dance practice. Midori is told that’ll be what they will be focusing on for the day but from the moment we start speaking together it’s pretty obvious she’s troubled by something. Starting off her words with a slight stutter and

later adding a lot of umms to what she says. She doesn’t mention anything about what it is but she does say she’ll do her best.

This skips ahead to where she ends up confessing she didn’t expect dancing to be this hard and that she believed she had the strength to do it.

She ends up opening up and saying she’s at a loss as to what kind of frame of mind she should have. Her focus is heavily on how she should do things as an idol and it begins to make her question herself.

Honestly it’s much better for me to share screencaps of this moment than explain it, since it really does better to show than to say.

Her speaking about things in general seems to be the easiest way for her to notice when she’s overthinking things and discipline herself-- which is a very common thing with Midori. She’ll give herself a light slap on the wrist and say something along the lines of how she has to

do better. I like to think this means she is a bit of a perfectionist in the sense that she wants to be able to do everything to the best of her ability, even if it’s something like practicing how to dance or how she should be presenting herself.

So she disciplines herself by taking a break off to clear her mind and meditate to help find peace and restart anew.

This is where her 2nd commu ends and now we begin her third. Arguably this is the one commu I first read and knew that like… omg? I think Midori is great.

It’s setting is based around a photoshoot she has and immediately it’s noticeable that something feels off to Midori despite the shoot going great, even as far as to say the photographer complimenting certain aspects of her modeling

but Midori for some reason has a hard time swallowing that or agreeing with it so she asks to redo it. The photoshoot ends up being stopped because we take notice obviously.

She ends up asking for time to think about it alone but during that time a few days has passed and she still has not been able to figure it out at all, no matter how hard she tries. She felt because of the compliment she received about her appearance and it just being on the

surface- how it wasn’t her. How anyone could master that if they took lessons, how people always praised her on her skills or appearance. All of these things being something other people could do if they put effort into it as well.

I really believe Midori struggles with her image of herself, understanding that sure it may not be her but it is a part of what defines her, and it’s not necessarily a bad thing but again she hasn’t been able to come to terms with that. She also struggles extremely hard with

accepting any kind of comment relating to herself because she feels it is something they say because “To think they understand just by looking on the outside” in her own words.

She says this but seconds later immediately owns up after realizing how dismissive she is. How she wrote people off as superficial and has done many disrespectful things to them when really, they all meant good. It just makes me so emotional… so I’ll show what she says.

How she went from struggling so hard and being completely unsure of herself to acknowledging and coming to terms with what it is that makes her like this, to being slightly upset and questioning if she truly has it in her to change to solidifying that NO she is capable of doing

it. Not only for her sake but for the people around her. She has acknowledged that she did a lot of things that weren’t fair or respectful and for the sake of the future she would face these things no matter how hard it is head on.

Her resilience and how much she pushes herself is so astounding to me. Midori struggled so much and beat around the bush so much because I really think she was afraid to admit it but as I said before she definitely disciplined herself and was like no… no! I can’t do this anymore

Midori’s strength and her persistence are so charming and what made me love her with all my heart. This commu really makes me emotional for this reason because despite being this serious, cool persona

she actually has flaws herself but she is able to admit to that and put in the effort of being a better person. Everything Midori has gone through has all been about overcoming something she hadn’t realized about herself. Her journey is how she changes and how being an idol has

helped her come to terms with these things, and instead of mulling she persists onwards.

I won’t go too heavily into her next Commu since it can easily be summed up but she starts off pretty confident for this appearance she has

but after she introduces herself had become unable to say anything else. She hadn’t been listening to the crowd of people around her and her take away was that she will listen more and cherish every single word.

Midori is such a wonderful person who on her journey of being an idol has also been able to change herself and her mindset. This is only the beginning too! I absolutely love her so much…

at the end of the day please keep in mind these are my opinions/take on her character! i feel a lot towards midori and honestly??? there's still a lot more for me to learn so this thread is far from complete!!!
