I take every leadership role in my life seriously, but those #miniBFFs? What I say to them matters. So I’ll say the same thing to you I said to those kids: good policemen are some of the best people. Honoring the police who are honorable matters. And black lives matter. (3/7)
I thank God for the policemen & women, some I know & love here in Nashville, who protect, honor, and serve our nation. And I will not be quiet about the racial injustice that my black neighbors and friends, some I know and love here in Nashville, have to face daily. DAILY. (4/7)
I feel sad all the way in my bones. I can’t even imagine what my black brothers and sisters feel. Or what policemen feel. Or what you are feeling. But these are days for grieving. The murder of #GeorgeFloyd is grievous and wrong. (5/7)
Tonight my prayers are with his family, with my black friends who are exhausted and scared, & with all my friends parenting the next generation. I’m right here with you, reading to my #miniBFFs once a week, hoping it does a little to make your parenting load a bit lighter. (6/7)
