There’s a few things I want to say regarding that tweet about "Libyans being unevolved" and that "diaspora Libyans are the forward thinking/educated ones".
Firstly, how can you call yourself open minded/educated with this mindset? So you think your parents were unevolved before leaving Libya and they only learned how to be normal abroad? Secondly, racism and sexism isn’t automatically non-existent when it comes to diaspora libyans,
in fact it’s still part of many libyan communities outside of libya.
Besides, if you think these are the only aspects of good governance then you’re not really educated on this topic.
Many people here are aware of this racism/sexism issue, so you can’t really generalize. There are of course also laws that prohibit group-focused enmity, we‘re just lacking enforcement.
There are many issues that some diaspora libyans are oblivious to. Many of them haven’t even lived through half of the struggles Libyans have lived through. It may be more likely that a Libyan could be more competent than a diaspora Libyan regarding this aspect. I‘m not saying
that it has to be but forcing this "unevolved Libyan vs. educated diaspora Libyan" narrative is completely wrong and makes you part of the problem.
Looking down on others and being a know-it-all is not going to get you anywhere. In fact, you shouldn’t even be thinking about holding a position of power in Libya if you have a superiority complex because no one would want to vote for you in the first place.
