A request! It's Starrcade '90 and Lex Luger is looking to regain the U.S. title he lost two months prior at Halloween Havoc, ending a 523-day reign, which was really 599 days between two reigns that were interrupted by 15 days of Michael Hayes.
Luger's run with the U.S. title was so long he turned heel in July 1989 and back to babyface in early 1990 while holding the title the entire time and for months past the second turn.
STARRCADE STATS
Lex Luger is from Buffalo, by the way. They gave him Chicago in Florida when he was debuting because they told him Buffalo was too small a market to be his hometown.
Here is Stan Hansen, who took the belt from Luger in October. This is Stan's last real run with anyone in the United States, and it would end pretty quietly in '91, lasting about 10 months total. After that was exclusively in Japan outside of a handful of matches in '93 for ECW.

TIE THESE BIG BOYS UP AND LET'S PARTY IN THE TEXAS "LARIET" MATCH
Headbutt from Stan and Lex goes "AWWAHHHFFF!"
Hansen's intensity forcing Luger to up his own.
Luger takes it to the floor, maybe a mistake with Hansen.
be back in a while, gotta come up with some overwrought argument that actually this is good
(I don't actually care about a sloppy suplex please don't try to start a Discussion about it with me)
Paul E on commentary: "Hansen's been beat up his whole life. He gets in fights in bars, he gets in fights with his horse..."
We just don't have many hanging spots anymore. Well. We didn't until Adam and Randy, they may have brought hanging back.
Hansen out here Cena-shouting for Luger, "kick me in the head"
The incredible concern of the security guard 😂
Lex very dramatically gets the fourth corner, but ope! The referee got CREAMED and Hansen gets his boot off real fast to bonk Luger over the noggin.
When Nick Patrick arrives to replace Randy Anderson and starts counting Hansen's corners, the crowd is furious.
Hansen gets the fourth corner and Nick Patrick is calling the match. Stan Hansen retains!
UH-BUH-WAIT -- original referee Randy Anderson DID see it all originally and he says NO.
And with that Lex Luger IS a four-time United States heavyweight champion.
