I am baffled by the people who cite the bernie campaign as a demonstration the left needs to abandon "idpol" and fight for "class solidarity". the dude talked nonstop about the 99% then got eviscerated because minority groups didn't think he cared about their particular issues
anyone who followed bernie's campaign would know that if he had one issue, it's that he would always focus on the same talking points about the 1% taking more than their fair share, rarely speaking in a meaningful way about specific problems for a certain community
bernie focused considerably on class during his campaign and while I obviously agree that his solutions would have benefitted all communities, that he failed to appeal to minority concerns is blindingly obvious.
(correction: I'd misremembered biden doing better with the latino voterbase, so just take references to "minority voters" as "black voters" in this thread)
