I am baffled by the people who cite the bernie campaign as a demonstration the left needs to abandon "idpol" and fight for "class solidarity". the dude talked nonstop about the 99% then got eviscerated because minority groups didn& #39;t think he cared about their particular issues
anyone who followed bernie& #39;s campaign would know that if he had one issue, it& #39;s that he would always focus on the same talking points about the 1% taking more than their fair share, rarely speaking in a meaningful way about specific problems for a certain community
bernie focused considerably on class during his campaign and while I obviously agree that his solutions would have benefitted all communities, that he failed to appeal to minority concerns is blindingly obvious.
(correction: I& #39;d misremembered biden doing better with the latino voterbase, so just take references to "minority voters" as "black voters" in this thread)
