DC's hospitality folks are anxious or eager for @MayorBowser's order to lift stay at home order, likely tomorrow. As @MarkLeeDC @jsidman @LauraHayesDC and I have noted, one big question is what will be defined as a restaurant. I'm cautiously optimistic about it. But there's more: https://twitter.com/barredindc/status/1263603688666550276
It's all but guaranteed that @MayorBowser will accept the broad 4 stage process the #ReOpenDC committee recommended, and unlike what was indicated before, likely reopen restaurants for outdoor seating on day 1 of new order. 2/
Will masks be required by customers? 4 options 1) nothing 2) Recommended, biz authorized to bar people without masks 3) Only required if have to go inside to get to outdoor space/bathroom/while entering/exiting; or 3) Required when sitting except when actually eating 3/
Will restaurants be required to collect contact info on all patrons for contact tracing purposes via reservation or not? Or will it just be recommended This was req'd in New Orleans (and Alaska) and required previously in Washington state (but backed down after complaints) 4/
This is a good piece about thathttps://www.minnpost.com/state-government/2020/05/is-the-requirement-for-restaurant-reservations-in-minnesota-part-of-the-states-contact-tracing-efforts/ 5/
Will there be any rules from @_dchealth that outlines exactly what restaurants must do for a positive COVID test? Will they be required to disclose or close for a period of time. @AnnaSpiegs raised concerns from restaurants earlier this month 6/
Will @MayorBowser indicate exactly what are the criteria to get to next stages and indicate what the restrictions will be for the following stages? Restaurants/bars and employees need to plan for long-term to see if it makes sense for them to open. 7/7
