Almost quote tweeted two men who told me earlier that I shouldn& #39;t be talking about politics/stay in the kitchen. I didn& #39;t, because quote tweeting isn& #39;t great behaviour from a largeish platform, but just in case anyone else has similar views, I& #39;ll just leave this here. Goodnight!
We all can & #39;comment on politics& #39;. Not one of us is shielded from the reverberations of the inner machinations of Government and subsequent fabric of our society. The decisions, revisions, incisions impact us all. So I will make potato salad, and I will roar about injustice. K bye
I am well aware that I would be more successful or palatable or waitrose-saleable as a neat little cookery author if only I kept my trap shut about things like poverty, exploitation, and injustice.

But I want to help build a better world. I& #39;m just rinsing baked beans on the way.
Also the idea that actively working to tackle food poverty every damn day ISN& #39;T a political act is absolutely laughable. I have a platform because my food writing has always been inextricably gnarled up in political themes. I mean,I literally wrote recipes from a foodbank parcel.
I cannot and will not sanitise my work to make it easier for you to swallow. If you want fluffy cookery chat, there are plenty of other people out there who& #39;ll give you your cheap cookies. I& #39;m here to ask why people can& #39;t afford better cookies, and try to change it. Goodnight. x
