Ideas, Products & Validation.

In Jan, I listed my products to date

It taught me:
For every 1 successful one, I had 2 that failed
I average about 4 products a year
My success rate is going up
Skills snowball over time & transfer

Since then I get asked these questions
Why so many projects?
Where do you get your ideas from?
How do you decide what to work on next?
Are you worried about ideas being stolen?

My projects are always small + self-contained to:
Fit around a 60hr work week
Deliberately constrained & not overwhelming
Can be built using no-code + free tools
Small enough to actually launch (a project always expands!)

These things help with ideas & inspiration
:
Document all ideas, around ~5 a day
Review them every few months
Look for repeating ideas, trends + patterns
Rate & filter them

I rate my product ideas in the following ways:
Concept: Never going to happen, I have no idea how to make this
Possible: I can see this existing, I could prototype this
Confident: I can't wait to make this, I am already actively validating this.

Don't be precious with your ideas
Youโre not 1st, do more market research.
People copy profitable businesses, not ideas
Remove fear of competition early, or it will always be there
You will have more ideas in one day than you can ever build in a lifetime
