My thoughts on how placements manifest and develop in kids as an early childhood specialist (thread)
first, a disclaimer:
Every child is unique and different. They develop at their own rate and in their own way. This thread is not definitive, and I'm not implying that every child develops exactly like this. I'm sharing my experience and perspective.
Also, you are always an amalgam of your whole chart. I'm trying to illustrate how the planets and childhood development coincide with each other!
Development is a life-long process, and it doesn't end in childhood, but I'm talking specifically about development in early life!
One more thing: when I say "develop" I'm referring to when that part of the child becomes an observable part of their personality

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
the moon is the first placement kids will show. From birth until around age 2, it's their primary placement.

around age 18 months, mercury starts developing. This process takes about 2 years. In my experience, once a child makes their first joke, this stage is complete
Their sun sign will start to show up between age 2-3.5. This is why parents often talk about how much their baby has changed since they became a toddler- they're seeing a completely different energy. Once children gain theory of mind, their sun is developed
Depending on the child's personality and temperament, the child will either develop venus or mars next and the other will follow soon after. Kids who develop venus first are more reserved, better sharers, and more risk-averse. Kids who develop mars first are fearless and fiesty
In my experience, venus children develop mars faster/easier than mars kids develop venus. Mars kids often end up having bad social experiences (exclusion, arguments) before they learn to embrace venus.
This process starts around age 3.5-4 and is usually done by age 6-7
The ascendant usually makes itself known around age 5-6, which is why 5 year olds are... Like That. They've figured the basic stuff out and they see themselves as their own person.
Again, these are just observations. I'm open to other ideas and perspectives!
