on one hand i hate how studios cast people well into their late 20s to play teenagers. on the other hand i look at how teenagers who DO end up in the entertainment industry are treated and i'm like actually no we don't need more child actors exposed to the hell that is hollywood
there's gotta be a middle ground between skyrocketing a bunch of 13 year olds into fame they're not equipped to handle and having high school aged characters played by a 30 year old, right?
aging some things up to be about uni students is good, but having stories for HS aged people to relate to without creating weird beauty standards that teenagers should look 24 is also good, which is IMO why adult and YA animation should be a much more popular and respected medium
