I’ve decided it’s time to listen to the latest Avett album... A thread, song by song

1) I love the actual music, what are these lyrics? This would be better with a non-Avett voice and no one else in the band either.

2) this is so fucking bad. I detest talking in songs. And stop trying to give “advice”, you’re bad at it

3) fuck them for this song. Fuck. You.

4) why does this story have SO many details. The moral of the story is children can’t raise themselves? Groundbreaking.

5) “dad’s just a muscle? Momma’s just a vessel??” So your dick and she carries the kids? Again, what are these lyrics? Head first into her pelvis? Ugh, gross.

6) Oh! More talking that has a “message”?, WOOOOOW. Someone has to tell them they are not deep.

7) lyrics, fine. Why is Scott doing high-pitched? It’s not his range.

8) is this the stance regarding gun control? Are we blaming media? What are we doing? You got beef with your neighbors, call the police... unless they’re POC, then you leave them alone

9) what a god damn snooze

10) the world is not in the hands of the women and the girls! Do you not know this? And there are so many words being fit into one sentence. They need to stop making commentary on the world through their music, it’s piss poor

11) Scott uses the word “lover” far too much for a man at any age.

12) the only song I haven’t basically hated. But just like song #1, it sounds like a song that already exists that I can’t identify.

13) don’t hate this either... sounds like something else but I’m fine with it. Has Rachel Yamagata vibes. This is the best song on this album, that isn’t saying much but I was at a full 10 before.

14) I’m so mad at this album.
