Given the way our country has gone since this EP was written in 2011 I've felt increasingly awkward and anxious about The War Room & whether we (& that record) are part of the problem. I think it's good to ask yourself difficult questions like that..
But I think it's very important to be able to pay tribute to the extraordinary sacrifices made by so many 'ordinary' people in that time - like Mike's dad, like my Great Uncle, and not nervously shuffle away from it, leaving a space for nationalists alone to occupy.
I think we stayed the right side of the line (and I'm not seeking reassurance) and the defiantly Krautrock Spitfire has, thankfully, never fallen into the wrong hands.. But there you go. Some late evening ruminations for you.
