On average, Nigerian parents make so many of their children's major life decisions, that a lot of kids end up as young adults not knowing how to trust their own judgement and take ownership of their own lives. Daddy and mummy's choice ends up being the default 'right' choice.
People think they have to make perfect decisions because of how much hinges on not being dragged in your African household, but part of adulthood is learning to make and stand by your own choices, making your own mistakes and learning to re-navigate when the time comes.
If you are always waiting to make the perfect decision, what happens is most times you are unable to make any decisions at all, or you wait for someone to make those decisions for you so you never have to own your own mistakes
